Today we will talk about one of the greatest legends of the football world, we are going to talk about Raúl González (26-7-1977, Madrid), better known as Raul, the myth, the eternal captain or the 7th of Spain. This player has a long career behind him full of successes, many at club level and as in the senior team.
Raúl began playing in his neighborhood club, the San Cristobal de Los Angeles (1987-1990) and afterwards played two years with the Atletico Madrid until 1992 where his adventure began in the club of his life, the Real Madrid first team debut in 1994 managed by Jorge Valdano, at the age of 17 years old. This team has some historical data, under his records he has six leagues, 4 Super Cups of Spain, 3 Champions, 2 Intercontinental and European Super Cup. At the individual level he is the player who has worn the most the shirt of Real Madrid in its history with 740 games and in turn is the leading scorer with 323 goals in all the played competitions.

In 2010 and as a Spanish football legend, he moved to Germany to play with Schalke 04 for two seasons. Then he decided to play in Qatar, a country where football is on its expanssion, militating in the Al-Sadd team until 2014, after a few months without any team, he signed with the New York Cosmos, where he is playing currently sharing the fitting rooms with other major players like Marcos Senna.
With the Spanish Selection, he got some historical records, despite not having achieved any title with 44 goals he is the second leading scorer, behind David Villa who has achieved 59 goals. Moreover he has participated in three editions of the world championship (1998.2002 and 2006), two European Championships (2000 and 2004) and the Olympic Games in Sydney in 1996. Third-capped player with 102, behind only Zubizarreta and Casillas. An interesting information to give from this player is that he has scored 5 goals in three World Cups. At the individual level, he has several rewards and titles, he has been the best world scorer in the year in 1999. He has also got the Silver Ball FIFA 2001. He has been included in the top 100 players’ list of the twentieth century. He got the Bronze Boot in 1999 and 2001. Ten times nominated for the Golden Ball, Raul has been in the top ten for the Golden Ball six times and another six times between the ten nominees for the FIFA World Player, which proves its regularity in the elite.
